David Byrne announces Cardiff Castle show for summer 2026
David Byrne has announced a huge open-air Cardiff show as part of his Who Is The Sky? World Tour, coming to Cardiff Castle on Sunday 26 July 2026.
One of the most influential and innovative artists of the last 50 years, Byrne is best known as the frontman of Talking Heads, as well as for a critically acclaimed solo career spanning music, theatre, film and visual art. His live performances are renowned for their creativity, energy and immersive production.
The Cardiff Castle date follows a sold-out arena show in the city and will see Byrne bring his celebrated live show to one of the UK’s most iconic outdoor venues. Fans can expect a set drawing from across his career — from classic Talking Heads material to solo favourites and songs from his latest album Who Is The Sky?.
The tour builds on the spirit of American Utopia, blending bold visuals, infectious rhythms and an unmistakable sense of joy, all set against the dramatic backdrop of Cardiff Castle.
