Indie Beer Fest Wales Is Coming to Depot — 9–11 July 2026

We’re beyond excited to share some huge news: Depot is hosting Indie Beer Fest Wales 2026, and it’s shaping up to be the biggest celebration of Welsh independent brewing ever staged.

From Thursday 9 July to Saturday 11 July, our doors open for a brand-new three-day craft beer festival — part of The Great Welsh Drinks Festival — organised in collaboration with the Welsh Government Drinks Cluster and SIBA (the Society of Independent Brewers and Associates). Over 35 independent Welsh breweries will be pouring more than 150 beers across the weekend. Keg, cask, live music, DJs, and Welsh street food. All under our roof.

What to Expect

Every ticket includes a branded pint glass and a beer token to kick things off. Whether you’re a seasoned cask devotee or someone just starting to explore craft beer, there’s something here for every kind of drinker. You’ll be able to chat directly with the people who brew these beers — the makers behind some of Wales’s most exciting independent breweries.

The festival runs across three sessions:

  • Thursday 9 July — Opening night from 6pm, including a dedicated trade session for pubs, bars, and hospitality professionals
  • Friday 10 July — Full festival day (session times to be confirmed)
  • Saturday 11 July — Final day, closing party until 10pm

Come for one night or make a whole weekend of it.

Why This Festival Matters

Wales is the only region in the UK with a genuinely growing brewing industry. This festival is a chance to experience that growth first-hand — no multinational-owned brands, no corporate conglomerates. Just Welsh independent breweries, many family-run, making exceptional beer.

We’re proud that Depot is the home for this event. Our warehouse space on Dumballs Road — just a 10-minute walk from Cardiff Central — was built for moments like this.

Grab Your Tickets

Tickets are on sale now via See Tickets. Early booking is strongly recommended — this is the first edition of Indie Beer Fest Wales, and we expect it to sell out.

Book your tickets here →

For the full lowdown on the festival — including brewery details, the trade session, and tips on making a Cardiff weekend of it — check out the comprehensive guide over at Wales.org: Indie Beer Fest Wales 2026.

See you at the bar.

American Hi-Fi Join Cardiff Castle Lineup This Summer

The lineup for one of this summer’s biggest nights at Cardiff Castle just got even better.

American Hi-Fi have been announced as special guests for Bowling For Soup and Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls, joining the bill for the Bowl My Bones tour when it lands at TK Maxx presents DEPOT Live at Cardiff Castle on Saturday 4 July.

It’s a huge addition to an already stacked show.

Celebrating 25 years as a band, American Hi-Fi were one of the defining names of early 2000s pop-punk and alt-rock. With massive tracks like Flavor Of The Weak, The Art Of Losing and The Geeks Get The Girls, their return to the UK marks a rare chance to catch them live – their first visit in over a decade.

Adding them to a lineup already headlined by Bowling For Soup and Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls takes this show to another level.

Bowling For Soup bring the chaos, humour and non-stop singalongs that have made them festival favourites for decades, while Frank Turner’s relentless live energy and connection with fans has built one of the strongest reputations in UK live music.

Now, with American Hi-Fi in the mix, this becomes a full-blown celebration of pop-punk, alt-rock and everything in between.

Three massive acts. One stage. Cardiff Castle in the height of summer.

If you’re into big hooks, throwback anthems and nights that don’t let up from start to finish, this is the one.

Final tickets are on sale now.

Pasture Announced as Exclusive Food Partner for The Garden at Blackweir

Cardiff’s acclaimed restaurant Pasture has been announced as the exclusive food partner for The Garden, the premium area at this summer’s Blackweir concert series.

With demand already high across the programme — and general admission tickets sold out for several dates — The Garden has quickly become one of the most sought-after ways to experience the shows. Pasture will now be serving guests throughout the series, bringing their signature fire-cooked dishes to the heart of one of Cardiff’s biggest live music events.

The Garden offers a more elevated way to enjoy the Blackweir shows, with a dedicated viewing area close to the stage, a private Garden bar, premium facilities and exclusive food from Pasture. Guests will also benefit from separate entry lanes and a souvenir wristband as part of the experience.

Known for its fire-led cooking and bold, ingredient-driven menu, Pasture will be serving a range of dishes inside The Garden including flame-grilled burgers, signature steaks served with house-made sauces and vegan options.

Sam Elliott, Chef Owner at Pasture, said:

“We’re incredibly excited to be partnering with the team behind Blackweir and bringing Pasture out of the restaurant to such an iconic setting. Cooking over fire, serving great food and being part of a landmark event for the city feels like a natural fit for what we do. We’re looking forward to welcoming guests into The Garden to soak up the atmosphere while enjoying the flavours and fire-led cooking that Pasture is known for.”

Nick Saunders, founder of DEPOT and promoter of the Blackweir series, added:

“Pasture are one of Cardiff’s best-known independent restaurant brands and a brilliant fit for the kind of premium experience we want to create at The Garden. With demand so high across the series, we want to give concertgoers a memorable way to enjoy some of the summer’s biggest shows — with great views, great atmosphere and fantastic food from the Pasture team.”

Several shows in the Blackweir series have already sold out, including The Cure on 24 June and Lewis Capaldi on 30 June, with limited Garden availability remaining for selected dates such as Teddy Swims (26 June) and Pitbull (4 July).

For fans who already have tickets, VIP Garden upgrades are available for selected shows, offering the chance to move into the premium area and experience the event with the best view in the field and exclusive food from Pasture.

The Blackweir summer series will bring thousands of music fans to the city as major international artists take to the stage at Blackweir Fields — quickly establishing itself as one of Cardiff’s landmark outdoor live music events.
