Anna Calvi announced as special guest support for David Byrne at Cardiff Castle
We’re excited to confirm that Anna Calvi will join David Byrne as special guest support when he brings his Who Is The Sky? World Tour to Cardiff Castle this summer.
One of the most critically acclaimed artists of her generation, Anna Calvi is known for her uncompromising sound, virtuosic guitar work and emotionally charged performances. A three-time Mercury Prize nominee and BRIT Award nominee, her work has consistently pushed creative boundaries while earning widespread praise.
Her latest album Hunter is a bold and electrifying release, exploring themes of identity, freedom and sexuality, and her live shows are renowned for their intensity and cinematic power. More recently, Calvi composed the score for the final two seasons of Peaky Blinders, expanding her reputation as a formidable creative force across music, film and television.
Calvi will bring that same striking presence to TK Maxx presents DEPOT Live at Cardiff Castle on Sunday 26 July 2026, opening the night ahead of David Byrne’s headline performance.
This announcement adds another standout artist to what is shaping up to be a truly special open-air show at one of the UK’s most iconic venues.

UK Garage’s biggest breakout star Sammy Virji lands in Cardiff for a huge open-air headline show at Shangri-La in the Castle, joined by a stacked line-up of special guests including Salute, Silva Bumpa, Arthi B2B Saint Ludo, Yemz and Lucas Alexander.
One of the most in-demand names in dance music right now, Virji is at the forefront of the UKG resurgence. From viral DJ Mag sets to packed-out festival crowds worldwide, his rise has been rapid.
