Australian electronic icons Empire of the Sun return to the UK this summer with their spectacular Ask That God Tour, landing at Cardiff Castle for one of just three UK headline dates.
Known for their genre-defying sound and visually jaw-dropping live shows, Empire of the Sun bring their full-scale, immersive production to the heart of Cardiff. Expect a surreal world of kaleidoscopic visuals, theatrical performance and euphoric synth-pop as Luke Steele and Nick Littlemore deliver one of the most ambitious live shows on the touring circuit.
The 2026 tour follows the release of Ask That God, the duo’s first album in eight years. The record marks a bold new chapter, blending existential themes with the dreamlike, nostalgia-tinged sound that has defined Empire of the Sun since day one. Fans can expect tracks from the album alongside era-defining anthems including Walking On A Dream, We Are The People, Alive and High And Low.
Empire of the Sun’s recent global tour sold out headline shows across Europe and North America, including landmark performances in London, Paris, New York and Los Angeles, as well as major festival appearances worldwide. Their return to Cardiff promises a rare chance to experience one of the most visually and sonically distinctive live acts of the last two decades in an iconic open-air setting.

After lighting up cities across the UK with Rum & Reggae, we’re BACK and this time we cannot wait to take over Cardiff! On Saturday 16th May 2026, 2pm – 10pm, we’re transforming The Depot into an unforgettable Caribbean tropical paradise, packed with colour, rhythm and vibrant energy
EXPECT an incredible lineup of reggae royalty, amazing DJs and UK sound system legends to keep the vibes flowing from start to finish. Get READY for the mighty David Rodigan alongside the unstoppable energy of General Levy. The Queen of Lovers Rock, Janet Kay MBE, blessed by Reggae Roast ft Mr Williamz. Feel the spirit of Bob Marley with live tribute act XODUS and experience the raw sound system of Love & Harmony Uprising Sound System. The festival will be hosted by the one and only Solo Banton, keeping the vibes high and the crowd rocking all day long!
No Rum & Reggae festival will be complete without the flavours of the Caribbean. Sip on tropical rum cocktails and punch bowls as you explore the authentic Jamaican street food stalls.
